It is so fun to remove the backing piece and reveal the finished cute oven mitt! Step 3: Package into gifts You can repeat this process a couple of times if needed. If it does, place the backing sheet back down, put the teflon sheet back and re-heat the design for another 30 seconds. Make sure the vinyl does not come up as well. Then carefully remove the backing from the design. When the timer beeps remove the Easy Press and the teflon sheet. Use firm pressure when holding the Easy Press over the design. Place it over the design, over the teflon sheet and press the 30 second timer button. Place a teflon sheet over the top of the design. Place your design where you want it on the oven mitt. Then your project.Īdd a cardboard insert into the potholder to protect it for the heat.Īdd a small towel over the exposed cardboard. Step 2: Add the design to the frontįirst place the mat down that goes with the easy press. You can still layer but you have to place each color down separately and re-press each color.įor these designs I just used one color. This makes it easy to place your design down all at once. When you are using the heat transfer vinyl it comes with it’s own backing, yet it is on the front so it is more like transfer tape. So I used two of the four designs from each set. I wanted to make sets of two cute oven mitts for each gift. If you don’t have a Cricut Easy Press you could use that same friend…who probably does…or an iron. You need to have a cutting machine such as a Cricut or Silhouette but if you have a friend that has one maybe you can persuade him or her to help you out.

They are from the Dollar Tree and they are quite nice.
